To further standardize the management of standardized residency training (referred to as "residency training"), improve training quality, and consolidate the foundation for medical talent cultivation, the Second Affiliated Hospital of Hainan Medical University (referred to as "Hainan Medical Second Hospital") grandly held the first half of 2025 residency training teaching conference on July 21, 2025. The conference was presided over by Director Wang Peng of the Academic Affairs Office. Secretary Xie Yiqiang, Vice President Zeng Yuecan, Deputy Secretary Pang Xiaoman of the Second Clinical College, directors of various professional bases, teaching directors, teaching secretaries, and staff of the Academic Affairs Office attended the conference to jointly summarize the achievements of residency training work in the first half of the year and deploy key tasks for the next stage.
At the beginning of the conference, Secretary Xie Yiqiang delivered a speech, emphasizing the core position of residency training in medical talent cultivation, and requiring all professional bases to address problems, focus on implementation, and continuously improve the connotative development of residency training.
Subsequently, the Academic Affairs Office reported that the first-time pass rate of the residency training graduation exam in the first half of 2025 was 99.28% (139 candidates took the exam, and 138 passed), which was a significant improvement compared with previous years. At the same time, the conference also announced the results of previous simulated exams for the medical licensing theory test.
Later, Director Xiong Wei and Deputy Director Wang Chao, on behalf of the hospital-level supervision expert group, fed back the problems found in the supervision and put forward rectification suggestions.
After that, 20 professional bases, including the Department of Ultrasound Medicine, Department of Surgery, Department of Neurology, and Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, made work reports in turn. They in-depth analyzed problems and clarified improvement directions in terms of the pass rates of resident doctors' medical licensing and graduation "two exams", faculty development, trainee cultivation, teaching incentive mechanisms, and file management. This not only demonstrated the high attention and responsibility of each professional base to residency training work but also built a good platform for exchanges and learning between different specialties.
At the end of the conference, Vice President Zeng Yuecan made a summary speech, pointing out that the residency training work in the first half of the year had achieved phased results, but there were still many problems. It is necessary to continue to focus on weak links and strengthen process management and quality monitoring. All professional bases should take this conference as an opportunity to unite as one, forge ahead, refine rectification measures, promote the refined development of residency training work, and lay a solid foundation for cultivating a high-quality team of clinical doctors.
